Sean O’Hair Takes Quail Hollow Championship

Sean O’Hair was on the practice green getting ready for a playoff when Lucas Glover failed to chip in for birdie on eighteen. O’Hair had just finished birdie, bogey, bogey to land at eleven under for the week and hang on to win his third career championship. With his third win O’Hair became the only American under thirty with three PGA Tour wins. He is playing great golf. He already had five top tens this year and leads the tour in scoring average. He is peaking at the right time. He can seek a little revenge on the 17th at Sawgrass this week. Quail Hollow lived up to its reputation as a top quality course. The last three holes were rated as the fourth, second and first most difficult on the course. It took its toll on the leaders and it certainly finishes like a major venue. Tiger was the only player in the top ten not to break par in the last round. His putter failed him in the final round but it was his driver that cost him the tournament. Phil climbed from T30 to T5 with his 5 under but lost the tournament on Saturday with a 75.

Cheers to John Daly for making the cut and finishing T31 at The Open de Espaňa on the European Tour. One step at a time John, one step at a time.
