Rose Leads, Tiger Talks

by Jeff Skinner

It seems like déjà vu all over again.  Justin Rose holds the lead going into the last round of The AT&T National just as he had last week at The Travelers.  Rose is hoping for a better performance than his closing 75 that left him tied for ninth at The Travelers.

One of the players he won’t have to worry about is Tiger Woods.  After his second straight even par 70 to go with his opening round 73, Woods is tied for 47th and 13 strokes back.  Woods wasn’t thrilled about his round but still found a minute to talk to the press afterward and even smiled a bit.  It’s strange to see Tiger in front of a microphone after such a dismal performance.  He has been unusually hospitable to the press this week.  Maybe Woods is playing MR. Nice Guy with the press because it is still his tournament and his foundation is the main beneficiary this week.  Hmmmm.
