Lincicome Lights It Up

by Jeff Skinner

For those of you that may be thinking the golf season is winding down I have some news.  The LPGA is in the middle of one of its biggest stretches of their stuttering, stop and start season.  The ladies are playing their second tournament of a string of six consecutive weeks of play.  This is how a real golf season should be and Michael Whan is busy doing his best to try and get the LPGA a real season full of opportunities to play next year.

One golfer that has taken advantage of this week’s chance to show her stuff is Brittany Lincicome.  She dusted the field at the CVS/Pharmacy Classic and shot a course record 61 at the host Blackhawk Country Club. Her eleven birdie round was a personal best for Lincicome and the lowest score of the year posted on the LPGA Tour.  She holds a four stroke lead over Wendy Ward and felt very comfortable all day. “The only time I looked at the scorecard was when we made the turn… I was making everything. It was pretty crazy, even more myself. I was making 30-footers, 5-footers. Just one of those days where everything was going my way and I couldn’t do anything wrong.”
