Tiger Woods & Phil Mickelson: Play Well Boys

by Jeff Skinner

Patience is a virtue and if you wait long enough for something you’re bound to get it.  We have been clamoring for more Tiger and Phil early round pairings and that’s what we’ll be getting tomorrow when they tee it up at The WGC Cadillac Championship. The powers that be decided to pair the top 21 players in the world together for the first two rounds and that means there will be some very interesting groups making their way around the Blue Monster.

Now, previously we were all hoping for that pairing when Tiger was number one and Phil was number two but we’ll take it with Tiger at number five and Phil right behind at number six.  These two are like Jack and Arnie, anytime they play together it’s worth watching.

Here are the pairings for the top 21 players in the Official world Golf Rankings.

I’ll pick Kaymer to be low man in his group.  G-Mac beats both Phil and Tiger.  Paul Casey takes honors in his threesome.  Bubba Tweets about besting Ian and DJ.  The Goose is loose and The Coolest Guy in Golf, Miguel Angel Jimenez, shows the youngsters in his group that he still has it.

  1. You didn’t pick a wnner in the 4th game that has Kuch, Furyk and Ernie. Although Kuchar is the hottest of this trio I’d guess you woud roll with the sentimental pick here. I’m with you on Ernie’s bandwagon.

  2. Man, I missed that one….. great grouping….stay with the hot hand I was always told…Kuch is the one.
