The Open Championship is upon us and the word most used to describe Royal St. Georges is quirky. It’s about as linksy as links golf can get. True links courses …“are vulnerable to the vagaries of chance, weather and bounces .” It first open in 1887 and hosted its first Open Championship 1894 which was the first time the Open was held outside of Scotland.
