Webb Simpson was quite open about his desire to win the PGA Tour Money Title. He hadn’t planned to play in the McGladrey Classic but he trails Luke Donald in the money 
race. So he decided to play and a good finish here will give the two time winner the lead and may just give him the title.
Simpson got off to a great start with a 7 under 63 that gave him a share of the lead. If Simpson passes current money leader Donald it will be very interesting to see if Donald decides to play next week at Disney. Donald has stated that he wants to win both the PGA Tour Money Title and the European Tour’s Race to Dubai. He currently leads both.
That would be a boon to the PGA Tour and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic at Disney World. As a matter of fact it would have to go down as the best Fall Series yet. The Timberlake gave us a monster playoff. Tiger came out of hibernation at The Fry’s. The Sea Island Mafia gave us headliners at The McGladrey. And a money title showdown at Disney would be a surprise ending to the PGA Tour season. We can only hope.
