Schwartzel’s Top Shot That No One Remembers

by Jeff Skinner

Check out the PGA Tour’s Shots of the Year right here. They named The “Bill Haas Shot From the Water” their best and while it was a dramatic play for Haas I would have to disagree.  Steve Stricker’s shot from the bunker at The John Deere was amazing also but I’ll take Charl Schwartzel at The Masters.

On the third hole of the final round Schwartzel’s iron shot from the fairway found the bottom of the cup for an early eagle and a great start.  He was three under after three holes and then tied with leader Rory McIlroy.  Pair that with his record setting four closing birdies and you find him wearing the green jacket.

It may not have been as dramatic as Haas’s  soggy shot at the Tour Championship but it earned Schwartzel his first major.  It was the best shot of the year that no one remembers.
Check out the homemade video of Schwartzel…
