You can’t talk about the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am without mentioning Bing Crosby. It was Bing that put the Am in the Pro-Am and professional golf. This tournament evolved from Bing and his bunch of golf loving, hard partying friends having a weekend of golf, booze and fun into the National Pro-Am it is today.
It’s a shame that corporate dollars have wiped his name of the marquee but anyone with a sense of history knows this is The Crosby. Matt Adams of The Backnine Network takes a look at the history and impact of The Crosby Clambake.
