Take a lesson all you publicists, media consultants and spin doctors. This is how a client handles it when they are trying to recover from a major screw-up. Rory faced the music today when he addressed the horde of media at the WGC Cadillac Championship. This press conference should be a model for all those public figures that need to apologize for their actions.
Rory admitted he made a mistake when he walked off. He apologized and attributed his actions to his frustration with his poor play. He took all responsibility for the walkoff and he did it openly, honestly and with a coy smile on his face. True, Rory has a lot of good will in the bank but he just earned plenty more with his mea culpa today.
Now all he has to do is get his game in shape, make a few cuts and go back to winning majors.
