Kevin Streelman’s Dream Comes True

by Jeff Skinner

Kevin Streelman earned his first official PGA Tour win at the Tampa Bay Championship with a bogey free round highlighted by very steady play and some very clutch shot making.  His tee shot to the difficult par three seventeenth afforded him his final birdie and sealed the victory.

Streelman may have looked more familiar than most first time PGA Tour winners as he was in the spotlight back in 2009 when he claimed the first place million dollar check in the Kodak Challenge.

He spent years driving through the mini tour circuit and finally earned his first PGA Tour Title in his 153rd start on tour.

“Always had a dream of getting here,” Streelman said. “And so to get this is the culmination of a lot of hard work and a lot of time spent late into the evening, and getting up early in the morning. And it’s really a dream come true.”

“Probably the best shot of my life in that situation,” Streelman said. “It’s just how I envisioned it and I pulled it off.”
