Solid First Round For Tiger Woods at The Masters

by Jeff Skinner

It wasn’t an outstanding day for Tiger Woods but it certainly was good enough to satisfy all the millions of “Tiger Fans” that show up about this time each spring.  Woods wasn’t spectacular but played well enough to still be in contention after day one at The Masters.  The saying goes “you can’t win The Masters on Thursday but you can certainly lose it.”

For the most part Woods drove the ball well hitting nine of fourteen fairways while averaging over 300 yards.  He hit thirteen of eighteen greens in regulation but needed 30 putts to card his two under par 70.  He’ll need to shave some putts off that total if he expects to capture his fifth green jacket.
