Jonas Blixt Wins The Greenbrier Classic

by Jeff Skinner

Jonas Blixt had won on the PGA Tour before.  The 2012 Frys.com Open winner had been here before, kind of…but not really.  His win at the Greenbrier Classic yesterday means so much more than the “old” Frys.com.  That’s because last year the Fry’s was a Fall Series Event and that didn’t come with all the bells and whistles that a regular season victory brings.

This season there are no fall series tournaments as all the events are full fledged PGA Tour events.  So that means Blixt’s second win may just mean a little bit more than his first.

With this win comes an invite to The Masters, the most coveted invitation in golf, entry into the PGA Championship and a full two year exemption to the PGA Tour.  And with the win he moves to 51st in the Official World Golf Rankings and a pass into the Open Championship.

With all that, you can understand why Blixt is so emotional about this victory.
