Tiger Woods Takes Commanding Lead at Firestone

by Jeff Skinner

Tiger Woods found his game today in a major way.  A nine under 61 for a career best round and a seven stroke lead at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.

Woods was hitting all the shots and he used only 22 putts to get around Firestone Country Club.  He could have gone much lower as his putter cooled off towards the end.  He missed putts of less than ten feet on fifteen and seventeen before he drained a 25 foot bomb to save par on eighteen.

Tiger is closing in on his eight victory at Firestone and he couldn’t be in a better position to make history once again.
