I made it down to the great state of Ohio yesterday for my first Presidents Cup. So far the people of Ohio have been a welcoming group. I’ll be attending the Wednesday press conference when captains Fred Couples and Nick Price select their pairings for Thursday’s fourball matches.
That’s one of the aspects of the Presidents Cup that differs from the Ryder Cup. The captains face off head to head selecting their pairings with the opposing captain being able to pick his pairing which he thinks matches up against that pair. It adds a little bit of strategy and puts the captains on the spot.
While I am on the road sometimes posting can be difficult, after all I have golf to watch, press conferences to attend, golf to play and maybe a few cold beverages to drink. It’s a tough life, I know.
