It wasn’t pretty at Pebble Beach. Neither the weather nor Jimmy Walker’s final round was anything to behold but it is Pebble Beach. And a bad day a Pebble is better than a good day anywhere else. And Walker’s round was just enough to get it done.
He may have staggered home but his two over 74 was just enough to give him the victory at The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and his third victory of the season. Walker is on an amazing streak having won three times in eight starts in this wraparound season.
In the past 20 years only Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and David Duval have started a season with such success.
Is there a new sheriff in town? I doubt it but there certainly is a new name on this year’s Ryder Cup team.
