Adam Scott’s Masters Champions Menu: Bugs & Pie

by Jeff Skinner

This week of tradition and history continued last night as Augusta National hosted one of the most exclusive parties in sport, The Masters Champions Dinner.  Originally started by Ben Hogan in 1952, The Champions Dinner is another of the aspects that makes The Masters so unique.

2014 Masters champions Adam Scott selected the menu for the evening which included an Aussie favorite, Moreton Bay Bugs.  The Masters Champions eating bugs? Well not really.  They are a spiny crustacean, known as Bay Lobster in Australia and one of Scott’s favorite local foods. “I thought it would be nice to have something really local to serve,” said Scott. “Hopefully, the other guys can get past the name and enjoy a nice bit of our seafood from home.”

The dinner was capped off with another Australian favorite, Pavlova, a fruit topped meringue pie.  And the actual recipe came from Scott’s mom.  Nothing like keeping it in the family Masters style.
