Arnie, Jack & Gary Open 78th Masters

by Jeff Skinner

Masters week got off to a new and emotional start on Sunday as the members of Augusta National welcomed the Drive, Chip and Putt competitors to their cherished course.  Augusta Chairman Billy Payne called it “one of the most powerful days in my life.”

That feeling carried over this morning as the Big Three officially started the 78th Masters with their opening ceremonial tee shots.

Arnold Palmer, four Master wins, Gary Player, three Masters wins and Jack Nicklaus six Masters wins all braved the chilly Augusta air to blast a drive down the first fairway.

If you think this all get old for these titans of the game, think again.  Watch the video closely here and you can see Gary and Jack both wipe tears from their eyes as they tee it up.  Maybe it was the cold or maybe it was them contemplating the enormity of this moment, this place, this game.  The term The Big Three barely captures the way these men are revered in the world of golf.

This never gets old…I could watch these guys play for the rest of my days.
