Day 1 PGA Championship Tally

by G. Rennie

It was a birdie fest at Valhalla Golf club today as the 96th PGA Championship field went low across the board with benign conditions ripe for scoring.

Most of the Links Life Golf crew rode that wave with their picks, here’s the standings after today’s play:  Wannamaker

5. The Greek was done in by the balky back of defending PGA champ Jason Dufner who withdrew at +8 after ten holes of play due to his bulging disk problem. He trails the pack at a cumulative +8.

4. Lil Skins nailed the number four spot courtesy of the Coolest Man in Golf’s +1 round. Miguel Angel Jimenez has some ground to make up it seems most of the field is under par.

3. Big Skins taps in at number three as all his players scored in the red save world #2 Adam Scott at even par.

2. Big Dick scored a -9 with all four players in red numbers, led by the tied second place round of five under from red hot Rory Mc.

1. Yours truly, G. Rennie , holds a tenuous lead on the close pack at -12 due to the sterling play of the chalk, Rory, and the equally scintillating round from longshot, human rain delay Jim Furyk.

Here’s hoping the rain stays away and the guys keep shooting lights out.
