Don’t Mess With Mother Goose

One of the joys of spending time on a golf course is being outdoors and enjoying many of Mother Nature’s gifts. Every course, even the most raggedy of dog tracks has at least one nice section where a man can appreciate nature’s beauty.

Spend enough time playing golf and you’ll also see encounter many different animals that inhabit the course. After all we are just sharing that beautiful landscape with Mother Nature.

Like many golfers, over the years I come across quite a few different species.

I’ve seen plenty of cats a few dogs and an actual ball of snakes. Turtles own a few holes of one of my regular courses and of course geese are present just about everywhere.

Last year we came across a bobcat prowling the fairways and deer and wild turkeys are so comfortable on one of my regular stops that they barely move out of our way.

I’ve seen hawks make a kill and was almost a meal for an alligator, a real one not a fake one.

I even saw a poor goose take a ball to the head and the woman who struck that shot cry like a baby.

But those geese have a strange attitude on the course. They think all that lovely water and fairways are their playground.

In the video below this particular goose took exception to this poor golfer that was just trying to enjoy a day on the links. One thing for sure he’ll never forget this hole.
