Jordan Spieth Is the Hero at Tiger’s World Challenge

jordan spieth hero smileJordan Spieth completed his wire to wire victory at the Hero World Challenge just the way he started it, with an impressive 6 under par 66 and the rest of the field looking up at him on the leaderboard.

Spieth took the lead on Thursday and never looked back shooting rounds of 66-67-63-66 to lap the field and his host at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club.  Spieth was all smiles all day as he set new records for lowest under par (-26) and for his ten stroke margin of victory.

This from a kid that would still be a senior at the University of Texas if he hadn’t turned pro in 2012.

Yes, it’s an unofficial event and a limited field but look who finished right behind Spieth. In second place was world number two Henrik Stenson who does a great Terminator impression on the course.

Tied for third was Patrick Reed, the self proclaimed “top five” golfer who has played like it recently and Keegan Bradley a three time PGA Tour winner and PGA Champion.

No, these weren’t a bunch of mooks that Spieth toasted; these are some seriously good golfers. Six of the top ten players in the world watched this kid eat their lunch.

With his Australian Open last week this gives Spieth two consecutive wins. This is an unofficial PGA Tour event and the Aussie Open isn’t sanctioned by the PGA Tour but that doesn’t mean much when it comes to Spieth’s confidence.

“This caps off the best golfing year that I’ve ever had,” Spieth said. “Each year has been a little better than the last. Hope it continues in 2015.”

Back to back wins has a way of making a great year and Spieth has set himself up for big things next year.
