Bill Haas Claims 2nd Humana Challenge Title

There was one crowded leaderboard at the Humana Challenge on Sunday. As the leaders were closing in on the last few holes six players were tied for the lead at 21 under par and a dozen were within one stroke of the pack of leaders.

Bill Haas broke the tie with a birdie on the 16th hole and then hung on with two pars to close it out for his sixth PGA Tour win. Haas did challenge himself on eighteen as his drive hung on to a bank just outside a bunker forcing him to improvise a layup shot with the ball played from above his knees. It was a tough shot with potential for disaster but the poised 32 year old showed no sign of tension as he played a shot down the middle of the fairway. His two putt par was enough for the victory.

Charley Hoffman, Brendan Steele, Sung Joon Park, Steve Wheatcroft and Matt Kuchar all finished tied for second one stroke back.
