Good Stuff from The PLAYERS Championship

The PGA Tour likes to play up the fact that it gives tens of millions of dollars to charity each year. Tim Finchem and his cronies would like us all to think that the tour isn’t just a business, technically a non-profit business that consists of a bunch of one percenters flying around the country playing golf for a living and counting their millions.

The truth is the PGA Tour does enable millions of dollars to go to good, effective charities which spread those dollars nationwide.

The Tour also has made it a common practice to honor our armed forces with Military Appreciation Days prior to many tournaments.

Such was the case this week at The PLAYERS Championship when a rather warm David Duval hosted a tribute to the troops at TPC Sawgrass.

Take a look at the first five minutes and you’ll get a good sense of what charities like Birdies for the Brave and the PGA Tour do when they can pull some strings.

This is good stuff, good stuff.
