Rory McIlroy Captures Second Wells Fargo Championship

To no one’s surprise Rory McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship today, or should I say he actually won it on Saturday.

Sunday’s victory lap final round 69 officially gave him the win but it was his course record 61 on Saturday that won him his second Wells Fargo title.

McIlroy not only set the Quail Hollow course record he also shattered Anthony Kim’s tournament record (272) with a four round total 267 and 21 under par.

It is Rory’s second win in three events as he took the WGC Match Play two weeks ago.

Rory is driving the ball so very well he can pick apart any course. He did just that this week on a normally demanding layout.

He is feeling pretty confident right now, “Feels pretty good. Playing well. Really happy with my game. Everything is sort of firing on all cylinders. I did what I wanted to do the last few weeks. I got myself up the FedExCup rankings, solidified my places at the top of the World Rankings. Looking forward to put the feet up tonight and get a bit of sleep and get ready for the next couple many weeks in Europe.”
