Sneak Peek: Chambers Bay No.18

Holly Sonders and Gil Hanse close out their Chambers Bay presentation with a big finale, the eighteenth hole. Controversy follows the player from tee to green.

Mike Davis will set this hole up as a 604 yard par 5 one day and a 525 par 4 the next. Davis insisted that a large, very large fairway bunker be placed in the landing area to make the players think about their tee balls. The bunker is so deep and penal it’s sure to cost any player a shot.

And that’s the easy part of the hole. The green is probably the most sever of all the greens on the course and will give players fits the entire week.
