Here are a few “golf” questions I thought I would never, ever hear.
Does golf really need Donald Trump?
A while ago Trump was buying golf courses as a hobby but recently he is one of a handful of deep pocketed entrepreneurs that are some of the few that are actually building golf courses. 
Like it or not Trump is a player in golf’s big time. The USGA and the PGA of America both have majors scheduled at Trump’s Bedminster Course and the PGA Tour holds two events each year on Trump owned courses.
Now, with The Donald shoving his very large foot into his even larger mouth there is a growing movement of businesses disowning Trump. Univision, NBC and Macy’s have cut Trump loose and his so called presidential nomination is an even bigger joke.
Here’s how I see this one playing out. Trump never had a chance at any real nomination and he’s in it for the ego and publicity. Be careful what you wish for I guess. As far as the golf organizations I think they hold down the fort and live with their mutual statement of reprimand towards The Donald. Tim Finchem isn’t about to threaten the golden goose that Trumps offers him each season.
Is Jordan Spieth making a mistake? 
Spieth has made all the right moves since his golf ball clanked off the pin and into the hole at The 2013 John Deere Classic for his first PGA win. The success that followed was dwarfed by the way the kid handled himself in the midst of such a meteoric rise to the top of the golf world.
Now, Spieth with the first two majors in his pocket is choosing to play at The John Deere the week before the Open Championship rather than go in early to practice on the tricky Old Course at St. Andrews.
He should be lauded for honoring his commitment to the tournament that started his journey into the history books but at the same time it would be understandable if he choose to bypass it and concentrate on the Open. After all, the Grand Slam is on the line here.
The John Deere Tournament Director has even given Spieth an easy out saying he and everyone else wouldn’t fault him for heading to St. Andrews early. But Spieth refuses to change his schedule and insists on playing the Deere.
Isn’t that one of the things we love about this kid? He always does the right thing even when it hurts.
Has Tiger Woods been hooking up with Amanda Dufner?
Wait a minute….what was that? I get the ‘Tiger Woods hooking up’ part but with Duf’s ex? 
Radar Online published a report that Woods and Amanda Dufner (now Boyd after the divorce) had hooked up and she was the reason Woods and Lindsey Vonn had broken up. Here’s another tabloid story on Tiger and Amanda.
There are a few layers here: Supposedly Woods and Amanda hooked up before her divorce. Woods thought Vonn had a chance of finding out. He came clean with Vonn (as clean as Tiger can be I guess) and she dumped him. Oh and it was the reason Duf and Amanda split.
Amanda’s rise in popularity came with the famous “ass pat” as Dufner gave his wife a squeeze as he won the PGA Championship.
Now Amanda is a very attractive woman who never saw a camera she didn’t like. Prior to her divorce she was a Twitter and Instagam favorite.
Tiger, well Tiger’s past run at fidelity speaks for itself.
I am torn between two perspectives on this. First I think they both could do better but at the same time I think they probably deserve each other.
