You have to love a golfer’s attitude. We hear it all the time whether it is from Tiger Woods or the weekend hacker, “It’s close.”
What golfer hasn’t said that about that his own swing which is missing that one small thing.
Well Troy Merritt said he found that one small thing this week and it resulted in the biggest win of his life as he won for the first time on the PGA Tour at the Quicken Loans National.
He didn’t look like a player who has missed 13 cuts this year including his last five. Nor did he look like he was feeling any pressure down the stretch as he stuck his shot to three feet at sixteen for a birdie and then rolled in a long birdie on eighteen for his comfortable three shot win.
He looked like a golfer that had found it and he sounded like one too.
