“Let’s Go Streaking” Jason Day Wins at The Barclays

For so many of us golf is a difficult, frustrating game that can drive a golfer to their breaking point.

Then there’s Jason Day. Day made golf look so very easy today as he cruised to a six shot win at The Barclays.Jason Day

His eight under 62 left second place finisher Henrik Stenson and the rest of the playoff fun bunch in the dust as he cruised to his third win in his last four tournaments.

Three victories in four starts on a streak that was started by a missed putt short of the playoff at The Open Championship is one impressive run. We used to call that Tiger-like. But then that was changed to Rory-like and that what replaced by Jordan-like.

Now we can call in Jason-like…or Day-like if you wish. But whatever label we use it’s simply astonishing.

Day started the week by pulling out of The Barclays Pro-Am due to a tweaked back. He finished the week by sinking putt after putt each longer than the last. He was an unstoppable force in the first week of the playoffs.

If a sore back is the secret to great golf I should be Jack Nicklaus but obviously Day’s back worked just fine as he fist pumped his way to his sensational win.

After Day had bettered his friend Jordan Spieth at the PGA Championship and Spieth had earned the top ranking in the world Spieth commented on his position and his friend.

The incredibly humble and always straight shooting Spieth simply said the best golfer in the world right now is Jason Day.

And Spieth is right…at this moment he is.
