While Billy Andrade was winning the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and Bernhard Langer was winning the season long Charles Schwab Cup for the third time long tenured Brian Hammons of the Golf Channel was calling his last tournament.
Hammons was an original member of The Golf Channel when it started in 1995. In fact he was one of the co-anchors of the first ever Golf Central.
He’s had many assignments over the last two decades with his last being the play by play man on the Champions Tour. For whatever reason his contract was not renewed by the golf Channel and with all the hiring of new faces on the Golf Channel that’s sad. But Hammons finished his stay there with much class and dignity. Best of luck to one of the originals.
