Inbee Park Making Her Move on Lydia Ko

Inbee Park won for the fifth time this season at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational and in doing so has sent a big message to Lydia Ko.park ochoa

The message: see you next week at the Tour Championship.

Ko and Park are in a head to head battle for most of the significant season ending LPGA awards and it will all be settled this week in Naples, Florida.

Park’s sizzling final round 64 gave her a three shot margin over Carlota Ciganda and was her seventeenth LPGA win which includes seven major championships.

Park now leads Ko in the Vare Trophy which goes to the player with the lowest scoring average. Ko holds a slim three point lead in the Player of the Year race and Park is second to Ko in the money list also.

Both have five wins this year, Ko is ranked tops in the Rolex World Rankings with Park second and Ko has a 469 point lead in the race to the CME Globe.ko trophy

The winner of the CME Group Tour Championship earns 3,500 points and the winner of the season long race gets an additional one million dollars.

Ko was able to survive a playoff there last year to win both the event and the million bucks.

Park looks to have found her putter and when she gets on a roll with it there is no one better in the world, man or woman.

There’s plenty a stake this week with Ko and Park looking to go all “Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey” on each other.

Well maybe not that crazy, but it’s bound to be a heck of a fight.
