Brooke Henderson made her way in and around, over and under all the trees at Sahalee Country Club to chase down Lydia Ko and earn her first major title and second LPGA Tour win.

Ko who was looking to win her third consecutive major championship held a one stroke lead at the start and shot a bogey free 67 but it was Henderson’s day.

Actually, it was Henderson’s week as she scored an ace on Thursday to win a car, which she gave to her caddie sister.

As good as Thursday was, Sunday was a bit better.

Henderson jumped to one back of Ko with a long eagle putt from off the green at eleven and then sunk a clutch birdie on the par 3 seventeenth to pull even with Ko at six under par.

The two congratulated each other and laughed as they went to a playoff on eighteen and then Henderson hit the winning shot. She stuffed her approach to three feet. With Ko twenty feet away victory was near.

Ko’s birdie putt slid by and then Henderson rolled hers in for an amazing come from behind major championship win.

It was some day for Henderson and the LPGA.
