David Feherty Salutes His Father

David Feherty is one of the most recognized faces in golf. And his “Feherty” gig on the Golf Channel is always funny and entertaining.

But last night’s show was something special.  Feherty sat down with friend and colleague, Peter Oosterhuis.  “Oosty” was forced to leave the crew at CBS due to early onset Alzheimer’s. It’s not a pretty disease and Feherty and his old buddy spent an hour  reminiscing about their old times together but the overriding theme of the show was Oosterhuis’ Alzheimer’s and that Feherty’s dad is also suffering from the same illness.

During the broadcast Feherty makes an emotional tribute to his father, his father before Alzheimer’s.  It is a heartfelt, touching moment and we see that Feherty is more that jokes and gags and a son that misses his dad.  It’s his best piece ever.
