That’s One Big Gator

giant-alligator

If you’re new to our course, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! When we play golf one of the cardinal rules is to stay out of the hazards.  But what happens if one of those hazards decides to move around a bit. Check out this walking hazard at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto, Florida.  That’s one nasty looking alligator and one hell of a hazard. Anyone that stands there to film him is nuts. … Continue Reading

Jordan Spieth Wins Again

spieth dean

So this is the Jordan Spieth we are supposed to see. The one that splits fairways, makes putts and even chips it in a few times. Spieth shook off his Masters meltdown and all the naysayers that were asking ‘what’s wrong with Jordan’. There’s nothing wrong with Jordan Spieth other than being held to too high a standard that he can only blame himself for. Spieth was his magical self at the Dean & Deluca Invitational as he was chipping,… Continue Reading

Phil Mickelson…Really Good and Really Lucky

phil thumbs up

There are many old sayings in golf that golfers use everyday. Drive for show, putt for dough is one. Never up never in is another. My personal favorite, not so widely known outside of my regular golfing biddies is Nice drive a–hole, which always follows a great drive that ends up in a bogey or worse. How about, I’d rather be lucky than good. That’s so popular among us hackers when we find a members bounce on a less than… Continue Reading

10 Things I Think

phil sly

1. Sunday started with the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and the Golf Channel team earned its money. They say you can have all four seasons in one day in Ireland and that’s just what happened. Rain, heavy rain, thunder, lightning, hail, (yes hail) were featured during the final round as Rory McIlroy surged and Danny Willett faded. And Willett finished up in sunshine and short sleeves on a day that’s a weatherman’s dream. Amazing. 2. What really was amazing… Continue Reading

Sergio Garcia Tops Brooks Koepka in Playoff

sergio trophy att

With five holes left to play Brooks Koepka looked to have the AT&T Byron Nelson in his pocket. He had a two shot lead and his biggest threat, Jordan Spieth was throwing up on himself all day. Other players including Sergio Garcia and Matt Kuchar were making some noise but Koepka had played the last five holes at six under par for the first three rounds. With the par five sixteenth left and his monstrous driver still in the bag… Continue Reading

Rory McIlroy Wins His Irish Open

rory irish

In what seemed like a Ryder Cup atmosphere at the K Club, hometown favorite Rory McIlroy finally got into the winners circle in Ireland as he powered his way to an emotional win at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. McIlroy, winless since last season’s DP World Tour Championship, has seen Jason Day and Jordan Spieth garner most of the press recently as he slipped to third in the world rankings.  But McIlroy was determined to do something about it at his… Continue Reading

Peter Alliss Calls Bulls**t on the R&A

alliss

Sometimes, most times if you are a conspiracy theorist, we never get the whole, true story…on just about any matter.  Today it’s golf, more specifically the women membership issue at the historic Muirfield Golf Club.  It seems that the male members have voted to keep the membership just that, all male and continue to exclude women from their membership rolls. Now the good old boys at the Royal and Ancient think this is politically incorrect and have pulled Muirfield, who… Continue Reading
