Ten Things I Think…PGA Championship Style

Jimmy Walker

Golf is a strange game. Jimmy Walker wasn’t on anyone’s hot list coming into the PGA Championship. His 2016 season hadn’t been anything special. He had managed only three top tens with five missed cuts including the the U.S. Open and the Open Championship. And then he goes out and takes the PGA in a wire to wire win. What a strange game and what a week for Walker. After years of winless seasons Walker started to win soon after… Continue Reading

Another Tough Day at The Masters

spieth 16 masters

A funny thing happened on the way to that mano y mano matchup at The Masters between Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy, a U.S. Open broke out. Augusta National played so very tough again today with gusty winds and firm greens players were shaking their heads all day as they missed fairways, greens and plenty of putts.  Only five players broke par today: Smylie Kaufman (69) who is in second place, Bernhard Langer (70), third place, Jason Day (71) T5,… Continue Reading

steve scott tiger woods

If you read this website with any regularity you know that I am not just a fan of all the internet websites on golf but also favor the printed media that covers our great sport. Sometimes I wonder why I subscribe to so many golf magazines when I can get most of the same content on the web. But many times the print articles don’t appear on the corresponding website right away or sometimes at all. And that is when… Continue Reading

Rickie, Rory, Jordan & More…A Great Week in Golf

spieth scruffy

Jordan Spieth is having a Woodsian run this season. His PGA Tour summary: 4 wins, 3 seconds, 1 third, 11 top tens, 14 top twenty fives and over $8.7 million. Oh, let’s not forget in November he won the Australian Open and in December he took Tiger’s Hero Challenge. That’s not a season it’s a career for most golfers. Rory McIlroy turns up lame just when Spieth is reaching his zenith. If Rory can’t come back soon Spieth may just… Continue Reading

Tiger’s Next Swing Coach…A Major Decision

by Jeff Skinner Tiger Woods is back in the market for a new swing coach. You would think that there would be plenty of candidates for the job. Tiger-Less PGA Doing Just Fine

by Jeff Skinner Yesterday’s third round at the PGA Championship was about as exciting as a round of golf can get. There was plenty of action with big names and young up and comers doing battle all afternoon. The only way it could have more exciting was if it had been the final round. And that’s what we expect today. Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson are three of the most popular names in the game and there are many… Continue Reading
