International Team Presidents Cup Report Card

price

The 2015  Presidents Cup International Team may have come up a bit short on Sunday but this is an overall performance they should be proud of. They made the cup competitive, something we haven’t seen in a decade. After being down 4-1 after Thursday’s opening session they fought back to have it decided by the last match on the very last hole. But for a few breaks here and there Nick price and his men would have been going home… Continue Reading

Showdown at The Presidents Cup…Yes, Really!

spieth pres cup

For years the brains at the PGA Tour tried to figure a way to somehow capture the passion of the Ryder Cup and instill it in its own Presidents Cup. Now some may say it was Captain Nick Price’s insistence that the format be changed to better accommodate an perennially overmatched International team.   Some may say it was Phil Mickelson’s gaffe of handing the Internationals two holes at once.  Some my say it’s that the American team is not playing up… Continue Reading

Price Is Right at The Presidents Cup

pre logo

Capt. Nick Price was right when he said his team needed to just stick to it and that there was 25 points still left on the board.  His International team came out guns lazing to take 3.5 points in the Day 2 Fourball session. Price’s charges climbed back into contention with Louie Oosthuizen & Branden Grace, Danny Lee & Sangmoon Bae, Thongchai Jaidee & Charl Swartzel all earning full point victories while Adam Scott & Jason Day earned a halve… Continue Reading

The Americans finished the day with a 4-1 lead over the Internationals and Capt. Nick Price is once again struggling to find the right formula to keep his players in the mix. Winning teams for the Americans in the alternate shot format were Bubba Watson & J.B. Holmes,… Continue Reading

Rickie, Rory, Jordan & More…A Great Week in Golf

spieth scruffy

Jordan Spieth is having a Woodsian run this season. His PGA Tour summary: 4 wins, 3 seconds, 1 third, 11 top tens, 14 top twenty fives and over $8.7 million. Oh, let’s not forget in November he won the Australian Open and in December he took Tiger’s Hero Challenge. That’s not a season it’s a career for most golfers. Rory McIlroy turns up lame just when Spieth is reaching his zenith. If Rory can’t come back soon Spieth may just… Continue Reading

Low Scoring at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

by Jeff Skinner We often hear golf analysts use the term “ideal scoring conditions” when many players go low during a round.  Well the conditions couldn’t have been better Thursday at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.  With idyllic weather, no wind and perfect greens players were going low, very low. Think of this: Charlie Wi shot a 61 at Monterey Peninsula and he is only tied for the lead at nine under par.  Danny Lee and Dustin Johnson matched… Continue Reading
