“Yes Sir’s” & “WTF’s” from The Masters

masters flag hole

Danny Willett’s surprising win at The Masters was great drama. Unfortunately, for many it will be Jordan Spieth’s uncharacteristic meltdown that defines the 80th Masters. And that’s regrettable because because Willett played flawless golf in the final round and looks to be quite an interesting character. It was a splendid week at Augusta…and I saw most of it from my couch. Here are some of the “Yes Sir” moments and a few of the “WTF” moments that marked my Masters… Continue Reading

Saturday-Swing-Tip-4-250x175

He actually hits it longer while he’s blindfolded!  Now that’s impressive but don’t expect him to make like Lexi Thompson when she putts and close his eyes. Day is doing… Continue Reading

Ramblings from the Easy Chair: U.S. Open Day 1

tiger looses club

By columnist G. Rennie Through 8 holes of play, the most stylish shot played by Tiger Woods was his high left hook and release on his second shot from the rough right of #8 fairway. His iron sailed gracefully in a high arc landing well behind Tiger. Meanwhile, I think Tiger feels he’s behind the eight ball as his play is totally erratic and a good shot is not just the exception, it’s a surprise.  There was much speculation on… Continue Reading

They are talking 9-10 miles of walking and the elevation changes are equivalent to walking up and down the… Continue Reading

masters pin d1

Here we go boys and girls, The Masters starts today. And here’s a look at the pin placements for the first round. We all know where the traditional Sunday holes are normally cut but take a look at what the players will face today. A few of those babies look exceedingly difficult. Number 2 and 8 look like very tough locations on the front nine. I really can’t wait to see them hit shots into 13, 15 and 16. 18… Continue Reading
