kmpg1

It’s another major championship this week as the LPGA Tour moves to Sahalee Country Club in Washington for their second major of the season. Inbee Park is the three time defending champion and a win would put her in the LPGA Hall of Fame. But a wrist injury has kept her from performing her best and caused her to withdraw from her last two events. Lydia Ko won the first major of the season at the ANA Inspiration and with… Continue Reading

1.  It may have been lost in a weekend of world wide golf but cheers to Peter Senior for becoming the oldest ever winner of the Australian Masters. Senior who is 56 and a Champions Tour player beat a bunch of youngsters half his age for his third Masters title. Let’s hear it for the old guys. 2.  Rory McIlroy is about half Senior’s age and it was great to see him back in good form with his win in… Continue Reading

Grand Slam: Four or Five Majors?

gs

Our great national controversy is over. The LPGA has released a statement that finally puts the question of what constitutes the “Grand Slam.” Sort of. With the LPGA’s history of changing sponsors and now naming five different championships as majors the debate whether the Grand Slam is now five majors rather than the traditional four has reached critical mass. With Inbee Park’s win at the Women’s British Open she has been correctly credited with the career grand slam. But the… Continue Reading

There is something special and wonderful going on in golf and most sports fans and golf fans are missing it. Inbee Park is one special golfer. Chip Shots: Drugs, Spies, Majors & More

007

There is some wild stuff going on in golf right now including some suspensions, some spying and a whale of a fish story. Scott Stallings was suspended from the PGA Tour for violating the Tour’s Drug Policy. But he didn’t go all A-Rod or Barry Bonds on steroids. Stallings had taken an over the counter drug, not a steroid, prescribed by his doctor. After a players meeting explaining the policy he went to the tour and turned himself in. He… Continue Reading

Inbee Park is back in form and walked away from the field at The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Harrison New York. Park’s final round 68 gave her a five shot margin of victory over Sei Young Kim. While this tournament is now billed as the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship with the new partnership of the PGA, LPGA and KPMG, Park had won the older version of this event the prior two seasons. So this gives her three straight LPGA… Continue Reading
