It’s been a long time coming for Christina Kim. The last time Kim won on the LPGA was nine years ago at something called the Mitchell Company Tournament of Champions. Heck, plenty of golfers have come and gone in those long nine years and if you listen to the newly crowned Lorena Ochoa Invitational champion Kim will tell you that there’s a big part of her that’s gone and this is the start of her “second act.” An emotional Kim… Continue Reading

St. Andrews Yields Low Scores at Women’s British Open

by Jeff Skinner Calm conditions on the Firth of Forth offered the women of the Women’s British Open a chance to card low scores and many of them took advantage of a relatively defenseless St. Andrews. At the time of this writing American Morgan Pressel stood in the lead alone at six under par.  Her six under par 66 is a score rarely seen under the normal windy conditions at the Old Course. 2013 Grand Slam candidate, Inbee Park is… Continue Reading

Tiger Woods Stars Down Under

by Jeff Skinner It seems rather odd that in the middle of November when most of the U.S. is trading in golf clubs for leaf blowers and snow shovels we can sit back and watch some warm weather golf in prime time.  Thanks to the wonders of television and the world-wide appeal of the game The Golf Channel is giving us some wonderful golf in the evening as we face the oncoming winter. At the Presidents Cup Warm Up Tournament,… Continue Reading

Masters=Green Jacket, Kraft Nabisco Championship=The Leap

by Jeff Skinner Contrary to popular belief, golf’s major season doesn’t begin next week at The Masters.  It begins tomorrow at the LPGA’s Kraft Nabisco Championship. The start and stop LPGA season kicks into high gear at one of their highest profile events of the year.  It does not get bigger than the Kraft for ladies golf. The Kraft Nabisco has all the requirements of a worthy major championship.  It’s played on an excellent course at Mission Hills Country Club… Continue Reading
