rio golf

All right, I have to admit that Olympic fever is hitting yours truly. I have been addicted to NBC’s multiple platform broadcasts as I try to grab a little bit of all the competitions down in Rio. Sure, watching Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky and the swim team is great and those high flying, gravity defying gymnasts are amazing. And of course the beach volleyball is fun. How aren’t they covered in sand? But I am not limiting myself to the… Continue Reading

Golf in the Olympics…Big Whoop

rio golf

With golf being back in the Olympic Games this year there is much talk about the 2016 golf season being such a special year. All the effected parties are saying the politically correct thing with “growing the game” and “it’s an honor to represent your country” thrown about very often. I haven’t heard many dissenting voices when it comes to golf making its first appearance in the Olympics since 1904. So it has been 112 years since someone teed it… Continue Reading

Hanse's Rio Course

So when I had the opportunity to do something golf related that didn’t involve me taking a divot I took it. This past Saturday I headed down to the campus of the USGA in Far Hills, N.J. for their first Golf Course Architecture Symposium. Now, normally anything with symposium in the title usually has me heading in the other direction… Continue Reading
