So the rain stole the show on the first day of the Ryder cup but that didn’t mean we didn’t see some spectacular golf. I have three stars of the first day for the U.S. team and no, it’s not the guy that bought the new rain suits.
So far Stewart Cink has proved to be a good pick by Corey Pavin. He was bombing in monster putts from everywhere. He canned four long birdie putts to power his team.
The rookie pairing of Jeff Overton and Bubba Watson were supposed to get hammered by Luke Donald and Paddy Harrington. Well, someone forgot to tell them and they hold a one up lead over the Euros. The two Americans were so pumped they were butt slapping each other after those birds.
