Tiger Woods to Play at the Arnold Palmer Invitational

by Jeff Skinner

Get ready, it’s coming and it may as well start here.  With Tiger Woods shooting a stellar 66 in the final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship and the announcement that he’ll tee it up at The Arnold Palmer Invitational we’ll have two solid weeks of “Tiger Comeback” promos on NBC and The Golf Channel.

Woods played his best round of the week in all aspects of his game.  He hit more fairways and only needed 25 putts in his seven birdie, one bogey round.  He said afterward that he had hit some good shots but was really happy that he could immediately fix his misses.  “I hit a lot of good golf shots and when I did miss hit one, I knew what the fix was right away, boom and I got right back on my run of hitting good shots again,” Woods said. “That feels good.”  “I had not played a round like this,” he went on,“I’ve played stretches like this in a round but not for an entire round.”

Put Tiger in the field at Bay Hill with Phil Mickelson and the rest of the boys, with The Masters their next stop and you have the formula for great ratings and maybe a memorable golf tournament.
