Matt Kuchar returns to the metropolitan area this week to defend his Barclays title. The title’s the same but the place is different. He won in a playoff last year at Ridgewood Country Club but the Barclays is rotating among a few courses in the metro area and this year’s tournament is at a new course, Plainfield Country Club.
Kuchar is coming off his career year with his Barclays win in 2010 along with eleven top tens, he led the PGA Tour in earnings and won the Vardon Trophy. He also led the tour in smiles per round.
Kuchar started this season with three straight top tens and has eight so far this year but he is still looking for his first win. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if he had a repeat of last year at The Barclays.
We all see Kuchar as one of the nicest guys on tour and it looks like he is the same way off the course. Take a look at Kuch at home with his wife and kids. He is “living the life” as we say and he knows it.
