Pettersen Talking Trash in Taiwan

by Jeff Skinner

Golfers calling golfers out: what is this world coming to.  First it was Greg Norman going on and on about Fred Couples picking Tiger Woods until Fred stepped in to tell Norman a thing or two.  Webb Simpson and Luke Donald haven’t been shy about their mission this week.  They are playing Disney for one reason only: to win the money title.  And they are going at it head to head.  Now the women are getting into the act.

As they play The Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship in World Number One Yani Tseng’s home country her closest rival has taken aim at her.  World Number Two Suzann Pettersen said she wants a piece of Tseng and her home country would be just the place for it. “I can’t wait to take her down on the golf course,” Pettersen told reporters. “We have done it once before and we will see if we can take her down at home. We are ready!”

Her comments were said in good humor but that doesn’t mean she wants to win any less.  Pettersen is one of the most passionate and emotional players on the LPGA Tour.  While Tseng is just as passionate she is a little more easy going on the course.  Pettersen leads the LPGA in F-bombs, in fact she could lead all tours and give Tiger a run for his money.

But this is what is making this week great.  Golfers don’t normally let the press know who is in their gun sights.  They tend to say the politically correct thing.  This week we have a few golfers with definite goals with someone standing in their way.  Let the games begin.  It should be a fun weekend.
