USGA Says “While We’re Young”
by Jeff Skinner
The USGA has announced a new program to combat the huge slow play problem that has plagued golf, at all levels, for years. They’ve borrowed the old Rodney Dangerfield line from Caddy Shack, “While We’re Young.” (Click here for the USGA’s new website.)
It’s their comical way to get some focus and hopefully some change concerning slow play. Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Palmer, Paula Creamer and Butch Harmon all appear in Public Service Announcements to pass on the message to “hurry up.” At least it’s a start.
