There Is Still Plenty of Golf Going On

by Jeff Skinner

The golf season may be coming to an end here in the Northeast but there is a very full schedule of golf taking place around the world.

Adam Scott continues his tour down under at the Talisker Masters or what everyone really calls the Australian Masters.  Scott is still basking in the glow of his Masters green jacket win not to mention his victory last week at the Australian PGA.  There is coverage on The Golf Channel.

The LPGA pays a visit to Lorena Ochoa’s homeland as the ladies tee it up at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.  Inbee Park, Suzann Petersen and Stacy Lewis are trying to close their seasons with a bang as the women head into their final championship, The CME Group Titleholders.  Park is trying to hold off a charging Petersen who hopes to bump her from the top spot in the world rankings.

The boys of the PGA Tour also head to Mexico for the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.  John Huh is defending at what previously would have been called the last full field event of the PGA Tour season.  But this is the New PGA Tour with a wraparound season so that makes this the sixth event of the 2013-14 season.  You figure it out.

Last, but definitely not least is the DP World Tour Championship, The European Tour’s grand finale in The Race to Dubai.  Henrik Stenson leads the race and is trying to become the first player to win the FedEx Cup and the Race to Dubai.  It’s a field full of stars as Justin Rose, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter will do their best to keep Stenson from making history.  Get up early and watch it on The Golf Channel.
