Know the Rules: Red Stakes vs Yellow Stakes

Finally, the weather has turned and the courses are starting to open here in the Hudson Valley.  It’s time to shake the rust off and get that swing in the groove.  Your swing isn’t the only thing that may need a bit off freshening.   Take a look at some of those pesky rules that you’ll have to deal with and someone in your group always gripes about.
Here is one of the most misunderstood rules in the game: red stakes versus yellow stakes.  You have a few more options when it is red.  So know the rules and use it to your advantage.
