Pinehurst Reckoning

by G. Rennie

us open logo 14The Links Life Golf crew did not do well with predicting the winner or contenders for the 114th US Open that Martin Kaymer finally claimed yesterday.  From a competitive perspective, Kaymer won this championship on Friday after posting his second consecutive round of five under 65.

The final tally goes like this: The Greek made the best call with Dustin Johnson who finished T4 at one over par. It was a long way down the leader board until our second place player picks emerged.

Lil’ Skins touted fashion plate Ian Poulter who finished in a T17 spot.

Big Skins was right there as the 20 year old phenom Jordan Spieth was also tied 17th.

Big Dick was disqualified as he committed the pundits’ equivalent of signing an incorrect scorecard: he picked a player to win who wasn’t in the field. KJ Choi was a DNP.

This dimwit should have his head examined as I picked Bubba before he went total jellyfish in his practice rounds and declared the greens unfriendly and made it known that he would play un-Bubba golf by laying back. You should always review your work before handing it to teacher.

Only one tout had all his picks in the money: Big Skins had four players in the top twenty eight. For that he gets to drive the cart in our next round. Next chance for redemption is The Open Championship, can’t wait.
