Tiger Passing On Arnie’s Place

I know we’ve heard this before, but…the Tiger Woods saga continues.

Woods announced on his website that he would not be playing in next week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational and says he still hopes to play at The Masters.   tiger n arnie

From TigerWoods.com:

I spoke to Arnold today and told him that I will not play in his tournament this year. I’m sorry I won’t be in Orlando next week, but I know it will be a really successful event.

I’ve put in a lot of time and work on my game and I’m making strides, but like I’ve said, I won’t return to the PGA TOUR until my game is tournament ready and I can compete at the highest level.

I hope to be ready for the Masters, and I will continue to work hard preparing for Augusta.

I want to thank everyone again for their support.

With only two tournaments (Valero, Shell) between the Palmer and The Masters, which Woods never plays, it looks like Tiger will be counting on his practice regimen to get him “major ready.”

So far in 2015 Woods missed the cut at Phoenix while shooting his worst round as a professional and withdrew from the Farmers, citing the most creative of injuries: “deactivated glutes.”

It hasn’t been pretty so far but we can’t say it hasn’t been interesting.
