The Past, Present & Future All Converge at Augusta National

MastersThe Green Jacketed One Percenters of Augusta National may take some heat for being the rich, ruling class of America with little interaction with the masses except for one week a year but one thing we can’t deny about the members of Augusta: they know how to put on a great golf tournament.

While many of the members are busy running our country many are totally consumed with putting on the most memorable of majors.

This week was no different and it is Augusta National’s dedication to the game, all aspects of the game that makes this the most important tournament of the year.

They honor the past and the history of the game. The embrace the present and they nurture the growth of the game.

Traditions like The Champions Dinner and having past champions in the field will keep the cherished history of The Masters burned in our memory. The way the current players are treated and the mystic of The Masters make this the event every player looks towards their entire career. And now a new tradition at The Masters starts with the Drive, Chip & Putt Competition on the Sunday before the tournament. They have promoted tournaments around the world with the thought of using a ticket to Augusta as an enticement. They are actively growing the game not just spewing rhetoric.

They cover all the bases, the past, the present and the future. And they get it as right as right can be.
