Spieth Says Globetrotting Is Over

Who doesn’t love Jordan Spieth? The Golden Child has become must watch golf whenever and wherever he tees it up. But Spieth, who in his short but amazing career has displayed a maturity well beyond his years may have fallen victim to his fame.spieth singapore ad

When you win two majors and chase the Grand Slam you become a popular commodity. Spieth was offered millions of dollars in appearance fees to play around the world in non PGA Tour events. And you can’t blame the kid for making hay when he can.

Tiger Woods did it better than anyone and Phil Mickelson cashed major world-wide checks but there is a price to pay.

The Kid may have burnt his very young candle on both ends a bit too deep. After the Singapore Open he said that he won’t do this again.

“It’s been a wild schedule,” he said. “And what I’ve learned is that I won’t bounce back and forth from the States over here as often as I did. It’s just tough.”

He said he was burnt out and it’s only February.

The Masters is two months away and Spieth already is measuring his success by major victories. And having earned 22 million on the course last year and tens of millions in endorsements…when is enough enough?

Spieth is smart enough to learn form this one.

A few extra checks are fine but crisscrossing the globe a few times in the off season is just too much…even for the Golden Child.
