Bryson DeChambeau Is Marching Toward His PGA Tour Card

One of the intriguing stories in golf lately is the emergence of part time physicist/artist/golfer Bryson DeChambeau. He who plays all his irons at the same length. He who wears the “Hogan” cap. He who talks of the golf swing in such lingo thatbryson rbc he would confuse Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.

Oh, and he who was low am at The Masters (and in the mix through three rounds) and finished T4 at The RBC Heritage.

This kid is interesting. And should I be surprised that he his talking about “winning championships and doing the best I can do.” He’s twenty two years old and sounds like he’s forty. Seems Jordan Spieth may have started a trend.

DeChambeau is trying to earn his PGA Tour Card without heading to Q-Schools and he is well on his way to doing that. He pocketed $259,600 from the RBC and he needs to get to $747,899 in his six remaining sponsors exemptions. The 2015 U.S. Amateur champ will be able to hold on to one of those exemptions as his top ten finish gets him into next week’s Valero Texas Open.

This kid is going to be fun to watch this season.
